Name correction

The name on a flight booking generally needs to match the passport or government-issued ID the passenger will travel with. Airlines and security screening compare the two, so even a small mismatch can cause problems at check-in or security.

Minor spelling errors

Typing mistakes happen: a missing or swapped letter, or first and last names entered the wrong way around. Many airlines allow minor corrections so the booking matches the passenger's travel document. We can review the booking with you, explain what the airline's rules appear to allow, and, with your authorization, help request a correction.

A correction is not a transfer

A name correction fixes the details of the same traveler. Changing a booking to a different person is a transfer, and most airline tickets cannot be transferred. If someone else needs to travel, a new booking may be required.

What to expect

  • What's allowed depends on the airline's rules and on how much of the name needs to change.
  • The airline may ask for documentation, such as the travel document itself or proof of a legal name change.
  • Some corrections require the ticket to be reissued, and airline charges may apply.
  • If you ask us to request the correction, our own service fee applies too, separate from any airline charge. Both are explained before you authorize anything.
  • Please don't send passport or ID images by email. If documentation is needed, ask how it should be provided.

Legal name change? Updates after marriage, divorce, or a court-ordered change follow separate airline rules and usually need supporting documents.

Flight or cabin upgrade

A cabin upgrade moves you to a higher class of service, for example from economy to premium economy, or to business or first class, where the airline offers it on your flight.

What decides whether an upgrade is possible

  • Eligibility. Your fare type, how the ticket was bought, and the airline's own upgrade rules.
  • Availability. Whether the airline is offering seats in the higher cabin on your flight, which can change at any time.
  • Additional charges. Upgrades usually involve an extra charge or fare difference set by the airline.

What we can and cannot do

We can explain which upgrade options appear to be offered for your booking, and what they would cost, including our own service fee, before you decide. We don't have special access to airline upgrade inventory, and no upgrade is guaranteed until the airline confirms it on your booking. Upgrades using miles, points, or status benefits are managed through the airline's loyalty program.

Unable to check in

When online check-in isn't working, the cause is often something about the booking, the timing, or the trip's requirements, rather than a technical fault. Common reasons include:

  • Check-in isn't open yet, or has closed Airlines open and close online check-in at set times before departure.
  • Booking details don't match A name, date of birth, or other detail may differ from what the airline expects.
  • Ticketing isn't complete A recent change or payment issue can mean a ticket hasn't been issued or reissued.
  • Documents need checking For many international trips, the airline must verify passports or visas, sometimes only at the airport.
  • Another airline operates the flight On some itineraries you have to check in with the airline that operates the flight.
  • Airline restrictions Some bookings, fares, or special service requests can only be checked in at the airport.

How we can help

  • Review your booking details with you
  • Explain likely causes and your options
  • Help request corrections to booking details, with your authorization
  • Tell you when an issue needs the airline or airport

Close to departure? Go to the airline or the airport check-in desk. Issues close to departure are handled there.

Unable to get a boarding pass

Checked in but can't get your boarding pass? These are the most common problems:

  • Retrieving it The confirmation email didn't arrive, or the boarding pass isn't showing in the airline's app or website.
  • Downloading or saving it The file won't open, a mobile wallet won't accept it, or printing isn't possible.
  • Accessing it for every passenger Boarding passes for others on the same booking don't appear.
  • Airport document verification Some passengers must have documents checked at the airport before a boarding pass can be issued, which is common on international trips.

Boarding passes are issued by the airline.

We can help you work out why a boarding pass isn't available and what to do next. We cannot issue a boarding pass or bypass the airline's check-in, security, or travel document requirements. If a document check is required, it has to be completed with the airline, usually at the airport.

Things to check first

  • Every passenger on the booking has completed check-in
  • The email address on the booking is correct, and spam folders have been checked
  • The airline's own app or website shows the same booking
  • You allow extra time at the airport if a document check is required

Booking help FAQs

Questions about booking details and check-in

Airlines make the final decisions on corrections, upgrades, check-in, and boarding.

Can you correct a misspelled name on my ticket?

We can review the booking, explain what the airline's rules appear to allow, and, with your authorization, help request a correction. The airline decides whether a correction is permitted, whether documentation is needed, and whether charges apply.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

Most airline tickets cannot be transferred to a different person. A name correction only fixes the details of the same traveler. If someone else needs to travel, a new booking may be required.

Can you guarantee an upgrade to business class?

No. Upgrades depend on the airline's eligibility rules and on availability, which can change at any time. We can explain the options that appear to be offered and their cost, but only the airline can confirm an upgrade.

Why can't I check in online?

Common reasons include check-in not being open yet, booking details that don't match, a ticket that hasn't been issued, or documents that must be checked at the airport. Some issues can only be resolved by the airline or at the airport check-in desk.

Can you send me my boarding pass?

Boarding passes are issued by the airline, not by us. We can help you understand why a boarding pass isn't available, but we cannot issue one or bypass airline requirements.

My flight leaves in a few hours. Should I call you?

If departure is approaching, contact the airline or airport check-in desk directly for time-sensitive check-in and boarding requirements. Issues close to departure are handled there.

Can I contact the airline or original booking provider directly?

Yes. You can always contact your airline, or the company you originally booked with, directly about name corrections, upgrades, check-in, and boarding passes. You do not need to use our service.
